Prepping a metal roof<\/h2>\n

Paint adheres best to surfaces that are completely clean, smooth and dry. As a first step, you can clean your metal roof with vinegar diluted in water to remove any residue or oils.<\/p>\n

Just prior to painting, power wash the roof. This will get rid of any new dirt, mildew and paint chips. You can forego power washing by using a scraper and sandpaper to clean and smooth out the roof\u2019s surface.<\/p>\n
