let\u2019s say you decide on a new\u00a0metal roof.<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0In 15 years, barring an asteroid\u00a0falling on your home, you\u2019re not going to be\u00a0close to needing another\u00a0roof.\u00a0\u00a0Not after 25 years, either.\u00a0\u00a0Even after 40 years, your metal roof will\u00a0probably still be going\u00a0strong.\u00a0\u00a0This is\u00a0because metal roofing material is simply the strongest, most durable material\u00a0you can put on top of your\u00a0house.\u00a0\u00a0Buy a\u00a0new metal roof, and you should expect that it\u2019s the last roof you will ever\u00a0need.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\">The strength of a metal roof<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">Asphalt shingles are popular, so\u00a0let\u2019s use those as an example.\u00a0\u00a0Take an\u00a0asphalt shingle in your hands and bend it.\u00a0\u00a0It\u00a0bends pretty easily.\u00a0\u00a0Now take\u00a0a metal roofing panel and try to bend it.\u00a0\u00a0You\u2019re going to be there for a while.\u00a0\u00a0That\u2019s\u00a0because metal is STRONG and virtually impossible to twist and\u00a0manipulate with human hands.\u00a0\u00a0It\u2019s also\u00a0virtually\u00a0impossible to alter bent with your own limited power.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The fact is, a roof made of these\u00a0asphalt shingles likely will hold up for 12 to 15 years, give or take a year or\u00a0two.\u00a0\u00a0Most\u00a0metal roof warranties\u00a0start\u00a0at 40 years, and many industry\u00a0experts say 60 years of good performance isn\u2019t too far-fetched\u00a0with a quality\u00a0metal roof that\u2019s been properly installed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Over the life of a metal roof, some\u00a0of the fasteners probably will need replacing, but that\u2019s a tiny fraction of\u00a0the cost of\u00a0replacing an entire roof.\u00a0\u00a0The metal panels themselves, well, as we pointed out, those are going to\u00a0provide you with\u00a0decades of service.<\/p>\n<h2
